I have the honour, in accordance with
Colonial Regulation 281 to request your covering
authority for the expenditure of the sum of $10,873
in supplementation of Head 26 (Kowloon-Canton Railway),
Sub-Head 43 shown on page 78 of the Estimates for 1934.
2.
Provision was made under this Sub-Head
for reconditioning in England one locomotive boiler
at an estimated cost of $17,143.
Owing to the increase during 1934 of
traffic on the Kowloon-Canton Railway it was found
necessary in the course of the year to send an addition-
al boiler to England for reconditioning.
3.
The actual cost was not known until the
full accounts were received in January of this year.
The additional expenditure was recommended by the
